Es Trenc
Back to all places
Es Trenc is a stunning natural beach located on the southern coast of the picturesque Spanish island of Mallorca. Spanning approximately four kilometers, this unspoiled stretch of golden sand is renowned for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and pristine surroundings, making it a haven for nature enthusiasts and tourists seeking tranquility away from the bustling resort areas.
The area surrounding Es Trenc is part of the Es Trenc-Salobrar de Campos maritime-terrestrial nature reserve, which was officially designated in 1984 to preserve the delicate ecosystems and biodiversity of this unique coastal landscape. Historically, the region has been a significant site for salt production, with evidence of salt flats dating back to ancient times.
Today, visitors can still observe the salt harvesting process, providing a glimpse into the island’s rich cultural heritage. Furthermore, Es Trenc played a strategic role during the Spanish Civil War due to its expansive, open beaches, which were used for military exercises.
This pristine beach continues to be a protected area, offering visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the natural beauty and historical charm of one of Mallorca’s most cherished treasures.
